This 10 day adventure is about using your 4 x 4 vehicle to traverse the beautiful Pyrenean mountain region of France and Spain, using old Military and salt roads, shepherds and drovers mountain trails and many "Col's"(mountain passes) to explore and see parts of the mountains only accessible by 4x4 and take in some of the French and Spanish  rural mountain culture and sample some of the local produce. Pilgrims 4x4 Adventure tours abide by the GLASS code of conduct and operate a tread lightly policy at all times.

The Adventure will start on the East coast of France around "Perpignan" using a very well appointed campsite as our Rendezvous and start point,

where you will  spend the evening discussing the itinerary with your guide and getting to know the rest of the group. The following morning the group will venture out into the mountains and the Adventure really begins! At the end of each day the group will either wild camp or use a well appointed campsite to camp before evening meal where you'll be able to relax and discuss the days Adventure and the next days proposed progress.

There will be one or two nights spent "wild camping" (which is legal in some of the Spanish provinces we pass through) however this is dependant on you the customer and our progress.

The aim is to to be on the move by 0900hrs each morning and travel  up to 7 hours a day with an hour for lunch. The Adventure will traverse the Pyrenees mountain range, stopping along the way to pick up supplies, memories and sample the culture. The Adventure will finish near "Saint Jean Pied De Port" a Pilgrimage town for the "Camino de Santiago" which has good road routes into France or to Spain and Santander/Bilbao ferry ports.

The 10 days start the morning after you reach the Rendezvous campsite, so your travel to and from is entirely your choice....take a leisurely couple of days to drive through France or pull an "all-nighter" and try to beat the google maps time!

There will be sections of road, but these will be as scenic as possible there will also be plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the stunning scenery, have a brew, and take pictures.

The routes are chosen to be as non-damaging as possible, there will be vegetation that may lightly scratch paintwork. The terrain will be varied…. from forest/dirt tracks to fords and high mountain passes, with obstacles such as rockfall, fallen trees, snow, washouts and many more... all of which you will be guided through safely, or navigated around.
